BERÜHRUNGSPUNKTE Meetingpoint 2023: Review and impressions

4 min read

After a long break, it was finally time again in May: Welcome to the BERÜHRUNGSPUNKTE Meetingpoint in Venice! And this year it was already the fifth time. It was with great pleasure that we welcomed around 2,000 architects and people interested in architecture to Palazzo Contarini Polignac directly on the Grand Canal over 4.5 days. The atmosphere was exuberant, extremely convivial and all the guests were delighted with a real live event!

"This event is a real classic. It's always nice to come here and meet people."

Varied programme for inspiration

It all started on Wednesday evening with our legendary Welcome Party, where the numerous guests networked in a Venetian ambience, held inspiring conversations, met up with acquaintances again and made new contacts. Delicious food and plenty of drinks were of course provided.

On the following days, various lectures by renowned speakers such as Leon Roloff (urban future Gmbh) and Prof. Xaver Egger (SEHW Architektur Berlin) were held in the Piano Nobile of the Palazzo. Lance Hollman from jack be nimble was also there, as was Prof. Jan R. Krause (Institute for Architecture Media Management AMM|Hochschule Bochum), who opened up new perspectives in his lecture "Lost in Translation".

Florian Summa and Annabelle von Reutern, as part of the curatorial team for the German contribution, also provided everything worth knowing about the topic "Open for maintenance - Wegen Umbau geöffnet".
One of the highlights: The presentation of the divia Awards from Diversity in Architecture to Marta Maccaglia.

As every year, our water taxi shuttle, which took our guests to the Biennale grounds and back again, was particularly popular. The garden of the Palazzo was also a wonderful place to relax, absorb the many impressions and simply enjoy the time on site.

Architecture FRIENDS and Architecture SCOUTS on the spot

How nice that we were able to welcome Katharina Benjamin (founder of Kontextur) and Nicanor García (photographer and architect) at our meeting point. Both of them reported on their Instagram channels about our event and the Architecture Biennale and thus allowed their numerous followers to share in these unique days.

Katharina Benjamin also shared five highlights der diesjährigen Architektur-Biennale. of this year's Architecture Biennale with us. Of course, our architecture SCOUTS Sandra and Leo were also there, looking around at our meeting point and on the Biennale grounds. They recorded their impressions in impressive vlogs.

The conclusion: It was nice! We hope you enjoyed this wonderful and inspiring time as much as we did. To reminisce a little, just take a look at the numerous impressions we captured on camera during these days. Grazie!
