The Netflix documentary series "Abstract: Design as Art"premiered in 2017 with its first season and documents the work and lives of innovative designers from a wide range of industries. In addition to illustrator Christoph Niemann and set designer Es Devlin, architect Bjarke Ingels, among others, also provided insights into his work and creative world, which is characterized by a great deal of creativity and ingenuity.
How does inspiration arise, what role does art play in this, and how does it influence every aspect of our lives? These are all questions that are addressed in the new second season of the successful series, which has been available on the Netflix streaming service since 2019. In a total of six episodes, Olafur Eliasson (artist), Neri Oxman (designer), Ruth Carter (costume designer), Cas Holman (toy designer), Ian Spalter (product designer) and Jonathan Hoefler (typeface designer) have their say this time and take viewers on a creative journey that makes them want to take up pen, paper and ruler themselves right away.
