More than 160 poignant portraits by Austrian photographer Mario Marino (born 1967) are compiled in this book published in 2018 documenting the people he encountered throughout his travels in Europe, Africa, Latin America and India between 2013 and 2016. His portraits are in a certain way simple and yet artfully ambiguous.
"The Art of Movement" is an exquisite collection of photographs by well-known dance photographers Ken Browar and Deborah Ory that capture the movement, flow, energy, and grace of many of the most accomplished dancers in the world. The largest collection of Steve McCurry's unique images of 40 years of work in a single volume. "Whatever It Takes" was written and compiled by Bonnie McCurry, his sister. The photo selection with more than 600 images not only includes numerous of his most famous pictures, but also many yet unpublished images. Personal notes, telegrams and visual ephemera are also included, all accompanied by Bonnie McCurry's lyrics as well as contributions from friends and colleagues.
Included are luminaries such as Magnum members Bruce Gilden, Martin Parr, and Alex Webb (who are still seeing what is invisible to others, as Robert Frank put it), along with an international group of emerging photographers whose individual biographies illuminate the stories behind their pictures of New York, Tokyo, Delhi, or Dakar. Four thought-provoking essays and a global conversation between leading street photographers explore the compelling and often controversial issues in the genre. A select bibliography and a resource section for aspiring street photographers complete the book.
This generously illustrated book for lovers of photography includes 365 images from the greatest photojournalists of today and yesterday. Founded by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Magnum Photos is an iconic international photographic cooperative whose members have captured the major historical events of their times, as well as private and intimate moments. A year's worth of these images is offered in this beautiful book that features full page reproductions organized to reflect what Cartier-Bresson himself declared a community of thought, a shared human quality, a curiosity about what is going on in the world, a respect for what is going on and a desire to transcribe it visually.
