Lesley Lokko was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire

The Ghanaian-Scottish architect Lesley Lokko curates this year's Architecture Biennale in Venice under the title "The Laboratory of the Future". This year, she will also receive another honor: she will be inducted with the rank of Officer (OBE) into the Order of the British Empire, with which the British government recognizes special achievements in the fields of art, science, community service and public service. The achievements of architects Zaha Hadid, Louisa Winn Hutton and Sumita Singha have also been honored in this way.

Lesley Lokko, who studied architecture and is an educator, is the founder of two architecture faculties, African Futures Institute in Ghana and the Graduate School of Architecture in Johannesburg. She also teaches herself at renowned universities around the world and devotes herself to various research questions on architecture.
