If you're in the mood for exciting visions of the future, multifaceted architecture and creative innovations, you should definitely pay a visit to the Architecture Biennale in Venice! For over 120 years, the Biennale di Venezia has been one of the most renowned exhibitions and since 1980 has also included the International Architecture Exhibition. This is based on the National Pavilions, the International Exhibition of Curators and side events. Diverse forms of expression ensured that the area was continuously expanded to include the Giardini and the Arsenale.

Dekolonisation und Dekarbonisierung

The renowned exhibition in the lagoon city is still open until November 26 and has already fascinated and inspired numerous visitors and revealed new perspectives. This year, the Architecture Biennale is curated by the Ghanaian-Scottish architect Lesley Lokko - under the fascinating theme "The Laboratory of the Future". The focus is on visions of the future, sustainability and the African continent. It's about decolonization and decarbonization.

German Pavilion: Recycling and Repair

The German Pavilion also wants to critically question 2023 under "Open for Maintenance - Wegen Umbau geöffnet". It is curated by ARCH+ / SUMMACUMFEMMER / BÜRO JULIANE GREB, which is dedicated to the topic of recycling. Interested visitors can also get active themselves in a workshop. Particularly exciting: The exhibition contribution was realized with used material from the Biennale Arte 2022. Numerous national pavilions supported the project and provided the demolition material of their exhibition architectures.
