KEUCO offers quality for spaces in healthcare architecture

3 min read

The new interdisciplinary unit 11.2.B at the Greifswald University Medicine demonstrates what modern healthcare architecture can look like today, with a strong emphasis on well-being, functionality, and design. The forward-looking project of ppm and Home2be was realised in cooperation with strong partners such as KEUCO. Because: Health doesn't start with therapy - it starts with the quality of stay.

The interior design of the new station is inspired by the Scandinavian lagom principle: not too much, not too little – just right. Inspired by the tranquillity of the Baltic Sea, sandy and blue tones, maritime details such as ship decks, portholes, and brass accents, along with carefully considered lighting, create an atmosphere that offers comfort and promotes healing. Here, a stay should feel like a day by the sea. To meet the high design and functional requirements, numerous high-quality KEUCO products are used in the bathrooms and functional areas of the new station.

In the washbasin area, the elegant EDITION 400 fittings not only set visual accents, but also offer maximum ease of use. They are complemented by the innovative iLook_move cosmetics mirrors, which can be flexibly adapted to individual needs with their movable swivel arm and five-fold magnification. The PLAN disinfectant and soap dispensers ensure maximum hygiene. They are both beautifully designed and functionally integrated into the design.

IXMO fittings ensure clear lines and precise water regulation in the accessible showers. MOLL corner shower baskets provide practical storage space with a timeless design, while PLAN grab bars ensure the necessary safety for patients, in line with accessible architecture. AXESS bathroom stools are available to provide flexible seating options.

Of course, safety and comfort are also in focus in the toilet area. PLAN CARE drop-down supporting rails promote independence and are seamlessly integrated into the overall design.

Disinfection throughout the ward: In addition to the bathrooms and patient rooms, PLAN sanitiser dispensers were installed in front of each room, public areas and examination rooms. They have a discreet design, but provide effective protection.

A showcase project with a signalling effect: Private Health Insurance (PKV) awarded the ward top marks - proof that medical excellence and emotional well-being don't have to be contradictions. The selection of high-quality products such as those from KEUCO has created a space that not only functions well but also resonates.

With a clear claim to design, function and durability, KEUCO products make a valuable contribution to the quality of modern healthcare buildings. In station 11.2.B of the Greifswald University Medicine, they become part of an overarching concept that demonstrates: Architecture can contribute to healing and well-being.
