Gira: Rethinking surface mounting

4 min read

In the past, surface-mounted installations were mostly used in rooms where design played a subordinate role, such as basements or storage rooms. Cable routing on the wall surface was quick to install and inexpensive. Today, however, surface-mounted installations are much more than just pragmatic solutions. They have developed into an aesthetic design element that sets visual accents in contemporary living spaces and offices. The product solutions from Gira in particular show that surface-mounted installations are not only functional, but can also be stylish and no longer just belong in the cellar!

Maximum efficiency

Compared to flush-mounted solutions, surface-mounted installations are also significantly more efficient, as no walls need to be chiseled open - an advantage that is particularly relevant for planning, as time and costs are saved. In addition, sockets and switches can be installed flexibly in the desired locations without having to take existing building structures into account. This makes it easier to implement different design concepts. The quick accessibility also enables uncomplicated maintenance, repairs and extensions.

Sustainable and ideal for building type E

Surface-mounted solutions are also the ideal choice when it comes to sustainable construction, which is becoming increasingly important for building owners in times of climate change and resource conservation. Existing buildings can be easily retrofitted with surface-mounted installations without damaging the fabric of the building.

In the course of the material and energy transition, building type E, which stands for simplicity, experimental construction, flexibility and sustainability, is increasingly coming into focus. Surface-mounted installations are ideal for this approach, as they are easy to install, can be dismantled at any time without great effort and are therefore recyclable.

All-round aesthetics

In addition to their high functionality, Gira surface-mounted solutions also offer a stylish and elegant design. The Gira E2 surface-mounted and Gira Studio surface-mounted switch ranges in particular are characterized by clear lines, timeless shapes and high-quality materials. Thanks to the wide range of design and color options - from discreet and classic to modern and eye-catching - Gira also offers maximum design freedom. This means that surface-mounted installations can either be harmoniously integrated into the room concept or deliberately used as a contrast.

Modern surface-mounted solutions for every requirement

The Gira E2 switch range as a surface-mounted variant offers an ideal solution for easily and flexibly retrofitting switches anywhere in the house or apartment. With its clear, minimalist design and timeless color variants such as pure white glossy and black matt, Gira E2 blends seamlessly into various room concepts and can set stylish accents. Compatibility with over 300 function inserts from the Gira System 55 is particularly practical, guaranteeing maximum flexibility. The Gira E2 surface-mounted is available as a single, double and triple version and thus fulfills different requirements.

For all those who prefer round shapes, Gira offers an interesting alternative with the Gira Studio switch range. The round design with corners and edges sets special accents in white or black glass and can also be mixed in the contrasting colors of black and white. There is no need to compromise in terms of functions, as Gira Studio is compatible with the more than 300 function inserts from the Gira System 55.
